I capture natural, relaxed photographs of babies and families, focusing on real smiles, genuine connections and all the little moments you’ll want to remember forever.
From relaxed family portraits and baby milestone sessions to fun-filled cake smash shoots and special newborn sessions, my approach is always baby-led, authentic and designed to make everyone feel at ease in front of the camera.
Shoots can take place in my Nottingham Studio or out on Location.

Hi there, my name is Sally Rose and I am the owner & photographer at The Rose Den, a family photography business located in West Bridgford, Nottingham. I have worked as a professional photographer for 12+ years. I spent most of my career photographing fashion, beauty and celebrities in London alongside weddings. However, after becoming pregnant with my son, we decided to move back to Nottingham to be close to family. Part of this decision also meant I could open my own studio, which I’d always dreamt of doing. And that’s how The Rose Den began!

Pregnancy is a truly unique and beautiful time, and maternity photos are a great opportunity to get some pictures of yourself during the last trimester of being pregnant. I am committed to making your maternity photography session as relaxing and fun-filled as possible, while capturing the true essence of this amazing time in your life.
Newborn Photography
I take a relaxed, baby-led approach to newborn photography. Babies are already perfect just as they are, so my main focus during each session is on capturing all the little details that make them unique. From their tiny fingers to their adorable little ears. As well as photographing your baby on their own, I always like to get some family photos of you all together too.

It seems like only yesterday I was holding my baby in my arms and now he’s walking and talking and developing his own unique personality. I provide a relaxed and natural approach to photographing families. My newborn shoots are always baby-led so that shoots remain calm and stress-free. Sessions can take place in either my cosy West Bridgford studio or in the comfort of your own home in Nottingham. This allows me to document your family in a way that feels natural and true to you

Exploring Nottinghamshire Through a Family Photographer’s Lens
People who hear the word Nottingham typically think of Robin Hood, his bow and arrow, and the ancient trees of Sherwood Forest. Sherwood Forest is one of the most well-known places in the UK and it’s a great place to take your children. Children love hearing about Robin Hood, exploring the trails of Sherwood Forest, and standing under the legendary Major Oak tree. It’s also an ideal location for me as a family photographer in Nottingham. The light filtering through the trees provides a beautiful setting for photos and there are endless possibilities for creative storytelling.
Another popular landmark for families to visit is Nottingham Castle. Nottingham Castle is located on top of the hill overlooking Nottingham city. The castle has a rich history and offers visitors many interactive displays and opportunities for children to explore. Additionally, there is a large play area at Nottingham Castle as well as a statue of Robin Hood which families can capture photos with.
Wollaton Hall is another of Nottingham’s most photographed landmarks. Wollaton Hall has stunning architecture and is surrounded by vast areas of parkland and wandering deer. It is easy to see why families enjoy spending time at Wollaton Hall. Wollaton Hall was also featured in The Dark Knight Rises as Wayne Manor’s exterior. which is always a fun fact to tell children while visiting. Whether you are using a professional camera or simply snapping photos of your family with your smartphone, Wollaton Hall is an excellent location to make lasting memories.
Rushcliffe Country Park is one of our favourite locations for everyday family adventures. Rushcliffe Country Park has woodland trails, an enormous playground and a miniature train you can ride on. There are numerous opportunities for memorable experiences at Rushcliffe Country Park, which is why we continue to return time after time.
West Bridgford Park is another lovely park in Nottingham for families with young children. West Bridgford Park has an amazing playground and plenty of open space for kids to run around. There are lots of family-friendly cafés and restaurants nearby too, making it easy to create a fun morning out.
West Bridgford is also just moments from the picturesque River Trent. I thoroughly enjoy going on dog walks along the river whilst spending quality time with my family. My son enjoys feeding the ducks and watching the rowers glide by.
Nottingham boasts a wide variety of activities and attractions for children. Stonebridge City Farm is an exceptional place for children of all ages to visit. This Nottingham farm is free to enter (although donations are always welcome).
Nottingham National Ice Centre is an excellent option for highly energetic youngsters and The Nottingham Contemporary hosts baby classes and family workshops. If you wish to explore more, then White Post Farm and Sundown Adventureland are also fantastic options for families in Nottinghamshire.
As a family photographer, Nottinghamshire consistently inspires me. Whether it is the legendary backdrop of Sherwood Forest, the historic streets of Nottingham, or the soft evening light along the River Trent, I find inspiration wherever I look.
My studio in West Bridgford has a relaxed, inviting atmosphere where I capture photographs of newborns, babies, children and families in a natural and calm manner. Whether I’m capturing tiny newborn details, a baby’s first smile, or genuine connection between family members. My goal is always the same.
